Ghosts in the Fog

Yup, still alive. Just not playing Maple Story anymore. It’s unlikely that I will return anytime soon, but I always hold out hope that I will one day return to finish my journey as a Ranger, and take the next step to Bowmaster.

To all my friends who may have been worried. My apologies. I have a bad habit of making massive life changes at a moments notice. When I do, it can take me a while to get back to my online life.

Mother Nature Blows

Really hard I might add. I’ve had my storm door ripped off twice in the last few weeks.

I’m fine, but I am taking an extended break from Maple Story. Besides my normal busy Summer schedule, it seems like we are getting hit by a major thunderstorm every other day. My internet has spent more time up than down because of all the tree limbs that are down around here.

I hope you all are having better luck with the weather than I am. I’ll let ya know when I’m going to be able to get back to Maple on a regular basis.

Nexon Rules

I hope you can see the sarcasm dripping off that title.

I actually tried to do some training this week, but after DC’ing three times on my way out of the APQ area, I decided against it. Now I hear on the Sleepywood forums that entire servers are going down again.

I’m glad my busy time of the year has coincided with Nexon completely failing to serve there customers in a fair and honest way. It makes me sick watching it happen, and I can only hope that they come around before the summer settles in and I have more free time for Maple again. My boycott of pets has now extended to all NX until these problems are fixed.

I fail on the IRL screenshots this week. However, I promise that next week I will do better. Pictures of my buddies 21st birthday will be better than this lame weekend anyways.

A Day Late

I know I missed my Tuesday update, my apologies.

Actually, my next couple updates are going to be kind of lame, because I have a busy end of the month ahead of me. This last weekend was graduation weekend. This weekend is Memorial Day. Next weekend is my best buds 21st birthday.

So ya, busy busy. I’m mostly going to be APQ’ing the remainder of the month, trying to save up some meso for some possible upgrades. I am currently boycotting pets until the loot and DC issues are confirmed as being fixed. I just can’t stand the fact that I pay for an item that doesn’t even work, or that I have to take off in order to be able to play.

On a completely non-MS note, I met an absolute goddess this last weekend at the lake. Her name is Shell, which of course reminded me of the gas station. Hence, I spent half the weekend calling her Texaco just for laughs. I’ll find a digital camera next time for some IRL screenshots. You may even get to see my ugly mug.

One Hell of a Week

I had one of my most productive weeks in Maple Story this last week.

It started off innocently enough. I decided to try my luck at the free Amorian Hair quest, and totally blew it.

This prompted a hair change, and since my NX clothes were running out in a couple of days, a new look.

I’m going for an Afro-Samurai type look, and I thought it went well. I definitely dig the Afro. Still trying to decide whether I want to renew the shades or not.

Trained a little bit at Himes with Whizzy early in the week as well, which leads into my next screenshot. The perils of looking for a Himes map……..

Mobbing on the left side always makes for some entertaining moments.

I also had a chance to participate in one of the Maple Anniversary Events. This particular event ended up being a Jump Quest, which I completed. Pretty lame rewards, but a fun experience none the less.

To cap off the week, I saved up some Apples from APQ and went to Blue Kents for the 12 hour 2x Exp/Drop event. There was an amazing amount of KS’ing going on, even at Blue Kents. Luckily, there aren’t many Fire Poison Mages, because the only two I ran into both started farting clouds of green smoke around my map like I wasn’t even there. It was a frustrating, but rewarding evening. I trained the entire 12 hours on 4 hour 2x EXP cards, so that I was getting 4x experience. I ended up getting 500% experience by the end of the night.

Maxed puppet is the sexiest thing ever at Blue Kents by the way. I can now lay an unprotected Puppet in front of a mob of Blue Kents, and kill all of them before the puppet dies the majority of the time.  My pot costs have dropped drastically because of it.

Now I’m going to slack off for a couple days to recoup from my marathon session. Talk to you again next week!

Double the Fun

I reached level 101 tonight, and that means that I now have max Arrow Rain and max Inferno. Huzzah!

I’m really digging the combination of the two mobbing skills. It makes me extremely versatile in mobbing situations, giving me the ability to mob things right in my face, or from a distance. I’ve been taking full advantage of this versatility by bouncing around to many different mobbing maps. Wolf Spiders, Blue Kentaurus, Himes, and even Pirates occasionally, just for fun (and mesos).

On a non-MS note, I picked up Grand Theft Auto 4 this weekend, and man is that game fun. My PS3 name is Copious if anyone who reads this blog and plays GTA 4 wants to add me as a friend. Don’t worry, I’m not going to stop playing MS or anything, but I do like to play GTA 4 during the afternoon when Scania is all clogged up with kiddies just getting off school. Might as well get a little more use out of my Ps3 than just watching Blue Rays from Netflix all the time.

EDIT: I HATE SERVER CHECKS!!!!!!!!

More specifically, I hate server checks that they don’t announce until an hour before the check. I had a big night of leveling all planned out, and damn near bought a 4 hour 2x EXP card. Luckily, the blue text popped up just before I went into the cash shop. Damn Nexon for ruining my awesome night of leveling with my MS-Wife Whizzy!

On a side note, I guess I should mention that I have a ventrilo server up. I have plans of turning it into my guild ventrilo server, but for now it’s just for me and my friends. Those of you who know me well on Sleepywood and through this blog can feel free to PM me on Sleepywood for the vent information if you feel like chatting it up. I’m pretty much always down for a good conversation.

Level 100!!!!!!!

Thanks to some late night Himes training with my MS wife Whizzy, I attained level 100 at 12:01 A.M., April 29.

I can only say that I am very, very satisfied with my Ranger so far. I’ve had a lot of fun leveling to 100, and I look forward to pushing on to level 120 and fourth job soon. I seem to have found the secret to empty Himes maps, although the training there is even more expensive than Blue Kents. They aren’t kidding when they say you are going to bleed pots like an open artery.

Grats to Whizzy on level 97, and early grats on 98! (She was at 93% when I logged off)

An archer, a boat, and a curse

I started the Maple History Book quest shortly after I started playing my Archer back in January of 2007.

Last night, after literally hundreds of trips from Ellinia to Ossyria, I FINALLY found the damn Maple History Book.

That was one of the worst bad luck streaks I have ever had. Glad it’s finally over with, and I can clear that quest from my log.

Level 98 is oh so sweet. Only two more levels to go till 100!

AT&T is evidently bad ass, they fixed my Internet two days before they were supposed to. Hooray!

To celebrate my good fortune, I had one hell of an eventful weekend in Maple Story. I am now officially married to Whizzzzyone, and we’ve been loving every minute of it. Amoria PQ rocks!

I also got level 97 on Saturday night, with a little help from one of those special 4 hour 2x EXP cards. I also decided to try out the 4 hour 2x Drop card, just to see what kind of effect it had on Blue Kents. I was very satisfied with the difference it made, and the Marrow drops helped me get my seed price down to 12K.

I’m thinking level 100 by April 27, let’s see if I can make it happen.

Zombie Mushmom puts out

Yup, after about 30 Zombie Mushmom kills, I finally got some decent drops.

About damn time.

In other news, I’ve been slacking a bit on my leveling again. I managed to get a close real life friend of mine to start playing Maple Story, and he loves it so far. I’ve been playing with him on a luk-less mage alt of mine, with plans of making it my HS mule once my friend gets close enough level to leech off my Ranger. It’s been lots of fun, and I even got lucky on the Amoria Hair Quest and went all Super Saiyan up in here.

You know you love that noob luk-less damage!

Another obstacle to my leveling has been my internet connection. We had a storm come through a couple days ago, and there is a line down or something. I get about 15 minutes of connection max before I get DC’d and have to reboot the router. Hell, I’m gonna be lucky if I can get this post up in time before the internet goes down again. Called the internet folks and they said they will have it fixed by Monday. We’ll see if they can come through for me.
